You never know what you will see at a stormwater treatment area. This location has been known for spotting crested caracara, white-tailed kites and large flocks of wood storks. It is not uncommon to see nearly 65-100 species for the day!
You will need to make your own overnight reservations. Carpooling to Clewiston is recommended and we will carpool to the site from the Best Western. We will be taking more than 10 participants for this field trip. The liability release form must be completed and presented at the admission area.
Parameters set by STA5 personnel:
Best Western in Clewiston will continue to offer a year-round birders discount if you book directly with their manager Vivian (call 863-983-3400 between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Make reservations for December17th).
Donations are accepted. The $5 per person suggested donation will help cover our expenses to provide this opportunity. We will be starting at 8:00 a.m. but may stagger if needed. Restroom stops in Clewiston are suggested.
